Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Weekend Tour of Baltimore!

Helloooooo!  I hope your weeks are starting out on a high note.  My dad came to visit this weekend and we had two main goals:  Watch PSU beat MD and dine at as many restaurants featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives as possible!  HAHA I'm glad to report we met both of those goals.

The main purpose of my dad's visit was for the two of us to go to the PSU vs MD game being played at the Ravens stadium over the weekend.  We try to get to at least one Penn State game a season if we can, usually in State College, so it was fun to watch them play away down here.  It was a close game and they played pretty terribly but PSU won by 1 point.  THANK GOD.  Or I probably would have been dealing with a bit of a grump the rest of the weekend!

My dad is a big fan of the TV show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and for several years he's been watching and gathering a list of places he wanted to eat down here.  (My parents rarely visit me in Baltimore, thus the list was growing quite long.)  There's only so much a person can eat in one weekend so he had to narrow it down to 3 selections.  The full list of restaurants in the area featured on the show includes 17 eateries - you can find the full list here - so we've still got a lot of ground to cover when/if my parents ever come back to town.  I've eaten at a few of the places myself and a couple years ago took them to the Italian sandwich shop/market Dipasquale's, which my mom loved.  Highly recommend that place if you're looking for authentic Italian!

Ok, onto the tour my dad and I completed this weekend, along with my thumbs up or thumbs down rating :)

1.  Chaps Pit Beef

Photo via Yelp

This was our first stop for lunch before the game on Saturday.  Chaps is located in a very non-picturesque area of East Baltimore, and it shares a parking lot with a strip club.  YES Really.  So people apparently do not go there for the ambiance!  The place is pretty small (kind of shack-like, ha! I'm really setting this up nicely) and has limited seating.  When we were there it seemed most people were getting take-out.  But we were headed straight to the stadium afterward so we ate there.  I really had no idea what 'pit beef' was and was contemplating what to order.  I settled on a corned beef on rye and my dad had the pit beef.  I haven't had a corned beef sandwich in quite some time so I don't have much of a frame of reference but I thought it was pretty darn good.  The meat was sliced very thin and was actually less salty than corned beef usually is.

My dad really liked his sandwich too, as well as the proximity to the gentlemen's club.  I KID.  There is absolutely nothing fancy about this place AT ALL but if you are in the mood for a giant meat sandwich, then by all means hit it up!
My Rating: Thumbs Up

2.  Jimmy's Famous Seafood

Our second stop was for dinner after the game.  It was pretty late by the time we got out (SO MUCH traffic) and made it to Jimmy's Famous Seafood.  This place is also not in the most picturesque of locations.  It is located in East Baltimore as well, near Dundalk.  I knew what I was going to order before we even arrived - their world famous crab cakes.  Baltimore is full of restaurants that boast the best crab cakes in the city, and I've had some at other places before, so I was eager to see how these stacked up.  I ordered a side salad as well.  My dad got a salad and some kind of chicken topped with cheese dish?!  I don't recall the name of it and since it contains two foods that I thoroughly dislike and/or avoid I didn't sample any!  My order of crab cakes included two 8 oz broiled cakes.  Luckily, the waiter checked and they do not contain any dairy.  They just use a little mayo and egg to hold them together.  Almost the entirety of the cakes are lump crab.  They were pretty excellent!  Definitely in the top 5 crab cakes I've eaten.  They were also huge (hard to tell from the pic).  So I basically ate 16oz of crabmeat at 9pm that evening!

My Rating: Thumbs Up

3.  Blue Moon Café

Photo via Yelp

This was our 3rd and final stop over the weekend, and the most highly anticipated.  Blue Moon Café consistently has exceptional user reviews and is located in Fells Point, where I used to work.  For years, I had walked and driven past this breakfast spot and always seen a line of people waiting outside, in all weather conditions.  Yet, I had never eaten there.  I wondered what all the hype was about, but since I don't do dairy, I'm not really a breakfast person.  Alas, this was one of the places my dad was really looking forward to.  They don't take reservations, so when we arrived at 11:30am on Sunday morning, we had to put our name on a list that was already at least 25 people long and they estimated and hour and a half wait for us!  The restaurant is located in a traditional Baltimore row home, meaning it's small and skinny.  It only housed about 9 or 10 tables total!  Hence the constant wait.

Luckily for us the Fells Point Fun Festival was going on over the weekend, so we were able to waste some time walking around browsing the food and vendor stands in the square.  When we finally arrived back around 12:45pm, the staff told us they had actually called our name twice already while we were gone!  It seems they were ahead of schedule. So we had to wait another 20 mins or so and then finally snagged a table (it's tiny but very cute inside!).

The café is famous for their Captain Crunch French Toast, which is what I was hoping to get.  I know French toast is traditionally made with milk or cream, but I was hoping they could make a batch without.  I asked the waitress if they could, but sadly they could not :(  So the French toast was a no-go.  I'm often able to make special orders at restaurants, but since this place was so crowded and had such a wait, I guess it makes sense they don't have time to do that.  So, I ended up ordering an egg and bacon sandwich on rye toast with a side of fruit.  My dad put in an order for his all-time favorite breakfast food:  cream chipped beef.  I have no idea what that even is because it looks like a dairy nightmare!  HA

When the food arrived we were anticipating GREAT things, especially after waiting for nearly 2 hours!  Sadly, upon my dad's first bite into his breakfast, he became immediately disappointed.  He said it was probably one of the worst cream chipped beef dishes he'd ever had!  Lumpy gravy with scarcely any meat.  My sandwich was ok/fine, but it's hard to mess up a plain egg sandwich!  This is something I can order anywhere and they can't screw up.  It's a shame this place didn't live up to the hype and we waited for hours to get in.  Oh well, you win some, you lose some.  I do still wish I had been able to try the Captain Crunch French Toast though!
My Rating: Thumbs Down

And there you have it.  All in all a pretty masculine weekend of meat, more meat and football.  HAHA I was craving a workout and a salad like NO ONE's business on Monday.  It was really fun to have my dad in town though.  I mean I know Baltimore is not the most stunning of locations, but I wish more people would visit me instead of the other way around.  Who wants to come next?!

Have a great week!

Have you dined at any restaurants featured on the Food Network in your city?  Or a city you were visiting?

A Few Things Friday

I'm a bit scatterbrained right now with a hectic work schedule and preparing for my west coast trip so today is going to be a bunch of randomness!  No better way to start off the holiday weekend right?!

1.  I have been making and eating faux Chipotle burrito bowls all summer long.  How do I make these you might wonder?  Well I'll tell you!  They involve very little cooking which is a HUGE plus!

The base is this summer salad recipe I got from my sister last year and have made dozens of times since because I love it so much:

(Black beans, red pepper, cilantro.
I left out the corn this time because I ate corn-on-the-cob with dinner)

Then I add some ground turkey with taco seasoning:

Sometimes I stop there and sometimes I add rice.  This was brown rice in a bag which took about 2 minutes to make in the microwave! HA

And TA-DA!  A delicious homemade burrito bowl:

If I make this at the beginning of the week, there are enough leftovers that I can eat it for dinner for the rest of the week.  So quick and easy when I come home from work.  And that is the extent of my cooking and meal planning abilities.

2.  While we're on the topic of food, I ate at Nalley Fresh for the first time ever this week and it was SO good!  I can't believe I've never tried it before.  It's a salad place that has 6 locations around Baltimore.  You can build your own salad with whatever ingredients you want and they have a ton to choose from.  Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious, and it kind of reminded me of my favorite-ever salad restaurant in the world, Chop't.

3.  Still talking food here.  (You would think I'm starving but I'm typing this right after dinner.) Anywho, you know how Amazon sends you emails with recommendations based on past purchases?  Well, I received one of those recently and this was one of the items they recommended...GAG!

Just looking at that picture again is making me nauseous.  I don't eat potato chips (don't like them) and I am not really a fan of ketchup.  So a ketchup potato chip sounds like my worst nightmare.  The rest of the email contained vitamins, protein bars and running socks so I have no idea why they thought ketchup flavored potato chips would tickle my fancy.  BARF

4.  MORE FOOD.  What is going on with me tonight?!  Naked finally came out with some non-dairy  protein drinks.  So I picked up this one recently to try:

It's non-dairy and vegan and contains a bunch of fruit, which are all good things, but I didn't realize the protein was soy-based.  I've been trying to stay away from that so I probably won't buy this again, and the flavor wasn't that great either.  Live and learn.

5.  And finally a NON FOOD item!  I got these shoes for the wedding I'll be attending in CA at DSW for $10!!!  I kid you not.

They were on clearance for $20 and then I had a $10 coupon.  I felt like an extreme couponer without the cameras and fame.  The only wedding appropriate shoes I have are heels, and since the wedding is going to be outside at a vineyard I wanted comfortable flats or wedges.  These are wedges and they are really really comfortable.  They are almost as comfy as the flip flips that are permanently attached to my feet.

And that concludes my rambling for today!

Have a great Labor Day weekend, and remember SUMMER'S NOT OVER!

Do you have any quick go-to dinner meals?

Does Amazon ever give you bizarro recommendations?

What was the last great deal you got?!

What's in my Fridge?!

Oh hiiiiiiiiii!  I've seen a few posts where the author gives you a glimpse inside their fridge and I thought, what better time to share what's in mine, since it's brand new and probably the cleanest it will ever be!  Lucky you!

Without further ado, here are all the secrets contained in a single cat lady's refrigerator!

Let's start with the freezer:

  • Frozen treats:  Fruit bars, Cashew milk ice cream (vegan)
  • Frozen veggies: Broccoli, Brussels sprouts
  • Frozen seafood: Shrimp, Mussels
  • Frozen fruit (for smoothies): Pineapple, Strawberries
  • Cool whip (non-dairy topping for summer fruit)
  • Random frozen dinner rolls from my mom!
  • Ice packs (for running injuries!)

On to the main fridge.  Here's what's on the door:

  • Condiments:  Salad dressing, mustard, cocktail sauce, horseradish, lime juice
  • Jelly: 1 store-bought, and 2 jars of homemade strawberry jam from my Aunt
  • Vegan butter alternative: I use Smart Balance (light)
  • Hershey's syrup (dairy-free!)
  • Real maple syrup
  • Almond milk

And the Holy Grail:

  • More almond milk!
  • Brita pitcher (couldn't tell you the last time I actually changed the filter in that thing)
  • Iced tea
  • Gatorade
  • Coconut water
  • Various Bolthouse and Naked juices
  • Random 'natural' energy drink someone gave me, and I have yet to try
  • White wine (Moscato)
  • Champagne (I have zero recollection of when/where/why I got that champagne!)
  • Natural/brown eggs
  • Hummus
  • English muffins (I keep my bread in the fridge thinking this makes it last longer. I have no idea if this is true.)
  • Pickles
  • Ground flaxseed (for smoothies)
  • Takeout (from Carrabba's)
  • Fruit: Currently grapes, oranges, and plums
  • Veggies: Currently corn-on-the-cob and baby carrots

Andddddddd that's all she wrote.

After typing all of that out, I realize about 60% of the contents of my refrigerator are beverages! What can I say, I'm a thirsty girl, especially in the summer.

I'd say this is pretty representative of what's in my fridge most of the time.  The only things currently missing are some greens and some kind of meat, which I'll pick up fresh later this week when I run out of those leftovers up there.

I haven't seen the inside of a ton of other single peoples' refrigerators, but I feel like I probably have more food than average?! I think this is due to the fact that I don't eat any meals out any more on a day to day basis.  I used to buy lunches out a lot when I worked in an office, but I can't just peace out on the kids now and go for lunch!  So I pack food all week and eat dinner at home almost every night.  I only eat out or get takeout once or twice a week, usually on weekends, and it's pretty much always one of these 4 things:

- Sushi
- Panera
- Chipotle
- Carrabba's

YOUR TURN!

Tell me what's in your fridge!!  (Especially if you've got some weird things lurking back there)

And have a marvelous Tuesday.

Bethlehem Birthday Weekend

Turning 36 has been pretty great so far.  I don't know why I never thought to drag out my birthday celebration over an entire week before?!  Genius.  It was nice to have a few extra days off this weekend to visit with extended family and friends that I don't see often.

The weekend started off with me driving up Interstate 95 in a snowstorm Friday morning?!  The first day of Spring brought 3-6 inches of snow from MD to PA.  It was weird.  It felt more like the middle of winter but whatever.  I am holding fast to the notion that Spring is here despite the bipolar tendencies of Mother Nature.

On Saturday, my parents took me out for a delicious Italian meal.  It was full of carbs which proved to be integral to my long run the next day.  I mean, Italians really know what they're doing when it comes to carb loading.  Behold:

My mom got a smartphone last year and she really loves taking pics with her phone now.  Therefore, she felt the need to document me eating dinner:

She also knows how to put fancy filters on her photos.  Look at those SKILLS!  The restaurant told us they were just starting to feature Vegan Treats on their menu and they gave me one gratis for my bday!  Just winning all around at that meal.  I love that local businesses are featuring my beloved bakery.

After that giant meal, I went to visit one of my best friends and her family.  I got to hang out with her kiddos, including the new baby!  Who despite being 1 month old now still looks just as tiny as when I first met her.

I have no idea how we knew to coordinate our outfits.  We must be psychically connected.  My friend also surprised me with a non-dairy birthday cake!  I never forget that I have the best friends in the entire world.

On Sunday I knew I needed to get a long run in.  Last week I did 10 so anything greater than that was fair game.  It was pretty cold and windy in PA but my running felt really good that day so I decided to go for the whole 13 to get an idea of where I was time wise.  Not too shabby Bean.  Not too shabby at all.  The one thing I forgot to do here was put some fuel at the halfway point or in my pants (#twss) so by mile 11 I definitely felt like I needed some glucose.  Next time!

I came back from that run to the smell of my mom's homemade sauce on the stove.  She was having our extended family and friends over for yet MORE birthday celebrating!  The good thing about having multiple birthday cakes is that you get MULTIPLE wishes! Am I right?!

Sunday dinner featured (what else) MORE pasta, sausage, stuffed shells (def NOT vegan), garlic bread, salad, bean dip, artichoke dip, and shrimp cocktail.  If you are a part of my family, or if you are invited to a family gathering, there is 0 chance you will ever be hungry.  I'm pretty sure Italians think eating can cure any ill.  You have a headache?  Eat something.  Stomachache?  Eat something?  The flu?  You better eat something.  HAHAHA  That's my mom on repeat.

I had lots of help from all my cousins, nieces and nephews blowing out those candles.

And to top off that epic weekend of family, friends and eating, I stopped at Vegan Treats to get the bubblegum ice cream they featured for me that weekend!

I hate to admit this, but it was TOO sweet for me.  I hadn't had bubblegum ice cream since I was a kid, so I guess it's not a stretch to say my taste buds have changed since then.  This got me thinking about memories and the way we perceive things in our past.  I think memories have a way of endearing themselves to you, and making things sometime seem more perfect and rosy than they actually were.  This little ice cream reminded me that it's important to stay in the PRESENT and experience things as they are NOW, instead of pining for the way things WERE.  You can never go back in time, and there's probably a reason for that.  Thank you deep spiritual guru soft serve.

Well, I think it's time I finally conclude my birthday celebrations, as well as this post.  I've been rambling forever.  I hope you had a great weekend and encourage you to celebrate your next birthday as many times as possible!

Does your family celebrate special occasions with giant meals?!

Do you think you sometimes see the past through rose-colored glasses?

Thankful Thursday - Part 5

As I write this post, I can't believe November is almost over!  I loved being more mindful of all the blessings in my life this month, and wish I took the time to do this more often.  I hope this month has set me on the right path to do just that.  As 2013 winds down, I look back on this amazing year of change and growth for me, and just can't believe what a whirlwind it's been.  I am working on putting together some deliberate end-of-year recap posts as well as goals for the coming new year.  Things have come together this year in a way I never thought possible, and it's spurred even bigger goals and plans in me for 2014.  More to come.  But for now, let's wind down this month with my last gratitude list:

November 22 - My cats!  I know I've alluded to them in the past, but I am so grateful that I have these two special boys in my life.  I was always an animal lover, but prior to adopting them, I never considered myself a 'cat person'.  That seems absurd to me now because I was missing out my whole life on such a special little species!  And truly, being an animal lover means loving all animals, right?  I'm so glad I took the plunge and welcomed these guys into my home 9 years ago.  Today we had a visit to the vet, and one of my boys has a health ailment.  Something that sounds promising with treatment, and so that's what brought up these feelings.  I mean, obviously we were meant for each other - they're into protein shakes and running shoes!

November 23 - A clean house.  I will be the first to admit, I am no Susie Homemaker.  Many people in my life will surely pipe in and verify this.  I do not enjoy cooking (at all), cleaning, and housekeeping.  I know some people really do enjoy these activities and take pleasure in their ability to keep a beautiful home and prepare delicious meals.  I wish I enjoyed these activities more, especially cooking.  However, every once in awhile I get inspired to clean my little palace (ie. my 1 bedroom apartment) and the feeling I get after scrubbing this place from top to bottom just can't be beat! I was pretty proud of myself today and thankful that I that I have this place to call home.  Also, um, cleaning is a pretty hardcore workout!

November 24 - Church.  It's been awhile since I've been to Sunday Mass.  And it felt really nice to wake up early this Sunday morning and go.  Even if it's been awhile, I always feel this sense of peace and comfort going back (yes, even though they've changed the prayers that were ingrained in my head since Catholic school and I now have to look at that little pew card!).  Anyway, there was a phrase that stood out for me today in the priest's homily.  It was all about Love and how our purpose here on earth is to share the Love God gave to us with everyone we meet.  That's it.  Just BE LOVE.  This theme of Love is coming up a lot lately in my life, in my readings, writings, and daily experiences.  I feel like there's some kind of magic in this message; I like it, and I'm learning a whole lot from it.

November 25 - Apple magic.  Seriously.  I did a whole post on it so you know this knowledge has had a profound effect on me this week.  Have you tried it yet?!

November 26 - Patience.  My trip home in the evening usually takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes.  tonight it took 2 HOURS.  No, I am not exaggerating.  There was pretty much a perfect trifecta of circumstances that made my commute trying, to say the least, and somehow I kept it together.  It's this new thing I'm trying where I just Let it Go.  It sounds weird, new-agey, I know.  It's something I've been reading about and it's hard to do.  Really hard sometimes, for me.  But the fact of the matter is, there are many, many things you will not be able to control in life.  And when you/me/people, struggle to try to control these things we just add unnecessary stress into our lives.  Obviously, there is nothing you can do about traffic.  The only thing you can do is surrender control, and let it go.  And once I did that tonight, I felt FREE.  Sure, it changed my plans this evening but what could I do.  That's life.  Things won't always go according to plan.  I just let it go and it was amazing the effect this had!

November 27 - Green Smoothies!  (I may or may not be posting this in response to a recent post by OlivetoRun in which she admitted she's never had a green smoothie...what?! KIDDING!)  In all reality, I LOVE green smoothies.  And pretty much all smoothies.  I have admitted I am no cook, but I really love experimenting with smoothies and creating my own recipes.  I don't measure anything and I don't follow other recipes, I just throw stuff in there that looks good! And most of the time it comes out ok :)  This morning's breakfast smoothie consisted of the following:  Unsweetened vanilla almond milk, a little water, vanilla pea protein (vegan), 2 handfuls of spinach, pineapple, cherries and wild blueberries.  Lots of good stuff.  You get fruit, vegetables, antioxidants, vitamins, nutrients and protein.  What is not to love about that?  Behold the deliciousness:

November 28, 29, 30 - Family, Friends & Food.  I love Thanksgiving because it means I get to go home and spend time with many of the people I love the most!  It also kicks off the holiday season, which to me is all about Family.  I am excited to spend the next few days really doing nothing but enjoying quality time with my people.  Well, that and the food!  There is nothing better than home cooked food from your extended family.  Since my mom's side of the family is Italian, we eat a few different things on Thanksgiving.  Perhaps I'll snap some pics and post them on Instagram for you!  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving today as well.

How about you?

How was your month of mindfulness and gratitude?

Friday Faves - FOOD Edition!

It's been awhile since I've done a Friday Favorites post and since I'm in recovery/eating mode this week I thought I'd post about some great food items I'm enjoying lately.  Let's dig in (I hope you're not hungry!)...

1.  For breakfast, I discovered this incredible Nature's Path Coconut Chia Granola cereal.  In one of my previous Friday Faves posts, I revealed how much I love coconut flavored anything.  This is still the case.  I happened upon this new cereal by chance, while strolling down the 'natural foods' section of my grocery store.  I like that it's organic, non-GMO and vegan.  It also contains very little sugar (only 9g per serving) and 45% of your RDV of Omega-3's.  But despite how healthy it is, it is SO good.  There are huge chunks of dried coconut in it.  Mmmm.

2.  Snack time!  I came across these Raw Revolution bars a few weeks ago while stocking up on my Kind Bars.  These are also vegan, organic and non-GMO.  In addition, they contain 7g of protein and are also pretty low in sugar.  The Spirulina Dream flavor does taste a little 'green' from the spirulina algae but I like the taste.  And the Chocolate Coconut Bliss is a definite win.  I always keep bars like this in my purse for snacking on the go and I'm so glad I have a few new options now.

3.  Juice!  This one is not a new discovery, but it's been awhile since I've purchased it.  I discovered Sambazon Acai Juice a few years ago at Whole Foods.  When I worked downtown I would often walk to Whole Foods to pick up a salad and some of this yummy juice for lunch.  It's a bit pricey which is why I haven't purchased any lately, but my local grocery store had a sale on the large bottles this week so I splurged.  I've tried other brands of Acai juice but Sambazon original is still my favorite.  Do you drink Acai?  It's a touted superfood, but I just really love the flavor of Acai.  I even found an Acai sorbet at Wegmans this past summer.  I'll write that one up on a Friday Faves soon!

4.  Dinner time!  I don't think I've really mentioned in past posts how much I love seafood.  And I think I even left out that one of my favorite foods is crab.  I could eat snow crab legs for days, and in fact I did, when I was in Myrtle Beach last month.  However, this particular snippet is devoted to Mussels!  When I was in Belgium a few years ago, I sampled a very traditional Belgian dish called Moules-frites, which means 'mussels & fries'.  I'd had mussels before that trip, but only as part of Italian pasta dishes.  Well, after eating moules-frites, I unleashed a new found appreciation for savoring mussels all by themselves.
So, a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon these vacuum packed frozen mussels at my local grocery store and I have been eating them nonstop.  There are a couple things I love about them.  First, the bag contains just mussels, no sauce, no butter - so it fits with my non-dairy lifestyle.  Secondly, you can actually steam them in the bag, in the microwave!  For someone whose domestic skills are seriously lacking, this is heaven.  This bag says it contains 3 servings but that's hogwash.  For dinner, I steam and eat the entire bag myself.  Each serving contains 33% of your daily iron requirement, so I'm getting 99% of my iron in one meal!  Plus, there are 18g of protein in each serving, which means that's 54g all for me.  Watch out for my new Popeye muscles.

5.  Treat time!  Since Halloween is upon us, I thought I'd throw some candy in here.  Candy is still 'food' right?!  I know I've mentioned a few times one of the foods I really miss from my childhood when I could eat dairy was Snickers bars!  Seems trivial I know, but oh how I loved them. Anyway, a few years ago, I discovered that these Goldberg's Peanut Chews were VEGAN!  Who knew?  And they taste somewhat similar to Snickers.  These are made with dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate, and instead of caramel as the filler, they contain molasses.  So they're not exactly the same, but they are really good!  I wouldn't consider these healthy, although nuts and dark chocolate are supposed to be good for you right?!

6.  Another dessert!  I had to throw this one in there.  One of my favorite places to eat when I make trips back home to Bethlehem is Vegan Treats.  It is an amazing vegan bakery with it's storefront in Bethlehem, but it also has a large catering business and supplies baked goods to restaurants up and down the East Coast from NYC to DC.  Well, this weekend after the RWHalf, I stopped in to treat myself to some tasty vegan soft serve and I was rewarded with one of the most sublime, heavenly, tastiest things I think I've ever eaten in my life - Cheesecake flavored vegan ice cream.  I actually have no recollection of what cheesecake even tastes like anymore, and I'm not even sure I liked it as a child, but I could probably eat this ice cream every day for the rest of my life and never get sick of it.  I wish I could describe the flavor accurately to you dairy-eaters.  It wasn't overly sweet, but it just tasted rich and kind of buttery?  I don't even know what butter tastes like but that's how I would describe it.  I can only hope the next time I go back home they are serving up this flavor because I will surely walk out of there with at least a cone in each hand! Hahaha.  If you are ever in the area, I would urge you to check out this bakery.  According to their reviews on Yelp, people travel for hours sometimes just to stop in!

Well now that both you and I are sufficiently starving, I'll wrap it up.  I hope you also had a week filled with wonderful tasty treats!

Your turn!

What foods are you loving lately?

Any favorite Halloween treats?

**Disclaimer:  I was not compensated or provided products for this post.  These are simply foods I purchase on my own, eat and enjoy!
